- The END System includes:^One 31 cm silicone ventricular catheter or 80 cm lumbar catheter radiopaque lined length-measured^One female luer connector and luer cap for connecting to the distal exit of the catheter^One 60 cm reinforced cord with locking mechanism^One 30 cm measuring stick for adjustment of CSF according to mm Hg^One 150 ml drip chamber with microbial filter^One patient line and its contents: 1 male capped luer connector 3 three-way faucet with luer port Y-connector with 1 injection port 1 clamp One sterile, air-filtered, 50 ml sized drainage bag with 800 ml capacity.
- The catheter is manufactured using silicone material.
External ventricular drainage
method is used to monitor intracranial pressure, prevent acute intracranial pressure increase, reduce the volume by draining the hematoma with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), provide a direct route for the delivery of fibrinolytic drugs into the ventricle, and reduce the destructive and obstructive effects of blood in the ventricle. It is a recommended treatment method.
These systems are used to drain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) out of the body and are often used during or after surgical interventions to stabilize or improve the patient’s health status.
